With the exception of a DIY sub, I don't think you'll get more sub for < $1000 bucks than a 30-39pc+ or 16-46pc+ from SVS. However, they are BIG. I listened to Velodyne, B&W, Paradigm, Sunfire, and a HSU VTF-2, and then on a recommendation I ordered this SVS. The others were good but didn't wow me.
