One thing to keep in mind when looking for and listening to speakers, is if a speaker tends to grab your attention in the mid and high frequencies it may cause listener fatigue later on when you have been listening for many hours. This is not always the case but certainly something to keep in mind. Bright speakers have a habit of doing this and then they sound irritating later on. Many times the speaker that does not draw attention to itself is the more neutral one and a better choice that will reveal itself to the listener as you listen over time with many genres of music.

Have you had a chance to listen to PSB or Paradigm. They are two of the biggest speaker companies in Canada and make some terrific speakers for very reasonable prices.

Also try and listen to as many speakers as you can and spend the extra time. It will ensure you make the best decision and are not stuck with something that doesn't sound so great later on.

Good luck and I hope this helps. Keep us posted.
