My 10 Favorite Features of the new Forums - what are yours?

Chris and I are having a love fest here but I think it's important to point out the key features since this software has so dang many.

Security, Security!! - The old software did not require registration and there was no effective way to ban users and assign moderators. Trolls beware... you'll get kicked out pronto...

Ability for anybody to post quick polls. This could be fun. I haven't tried it yet but I'll try right now. A discussion thread will be attached to each poll which kind of makes sense.

1. Ignore feature. Haven't been forced to deploy it yet but it's incredibly nice knowing that I can.

2. Avatars. Having fun playing around with this feature to find -the one-.

3. EZ HTML cheats

4. Invisible mode!

5. Email

6. Forum traffic counts. Fairly ez to see that rave recs is driving the new software at this point. Best forum on the net and I hope that it gets bigger and better still.

Oh yeah, 7. Edit posts after the fact, as I'm doing now!

Pet Peeves:

1. The last thing the internet needs is even more of those darned smilies
2. I've been around for many moons and now I'm a newbie (if I did those smilies I'd insert one here-but I don't)
3. I do miss the threaded feature and this one doesn't even really aproximate the previous style.
4. Until the change over is complete I have to keep up with 2 AR forums. If I don't I just know I'll miss something cool.
5. The biggest pet peeve-No spell checker!

7 good things vs. 5 not so good things. I guess it's for the best.
