Thank you very much, Mr. P. It's nice to be back and see you around here, too!

Adam, I had a feeling this'd strike the right chord....

not sure what i think about it....

maybe it is one of those things that you had to be there for. at least for me. the guy at the record store, who was prob younger than my few 31 years (almost 32 this 27th) held it up to his co-worker, another young hipster, and made some weird social/cultural gesturing I was unable to interpret the meaning of. So I gave him the universal raise of the eye brows to indicate my curiosity as to what that was all about. He said he can't figure out if velvet underground is better or worse w/o neko. I just shrugged and paid the bill.

well... by the end of side 2 now i'm starting to vibe along the last couple songs....i'll give it another spin some time soon.

Their most accessible record. If you don't like that one, there's a good chance you won't like their other albums.

I'm not sure that would be a case in point. In fact, I would say side 1 was a bit too accessible, was there something subtle I am missing? I'll give White Lighting/White Heat a try sometime soon.

Seriously Adam the Picture is small and I can not read the title. If I was familiar with the recording I may not have to ask but again what is the title and group?

    Ahh, PABLO!!!
I grabbed Joe Pass from Pablo as well.
Pablo definitely kept Jazz alive in the 70s, and the spirit lives on.

    Classic!!!

If you know anything about Benny Golson, you know he was a master at writting tunes. He wrote for just about every one including Holly Woods movie industry for years... and many of his tunes became standards. Remarkably..he is still alive today.

    Noob and Pops...

If you can find this on vinyl get it. Noob I think you have Focal speakers which have a lively tweeter and Pops your Missions are lively as well. Metheny's music does very well with speakers that are lively with sparkle and you both have the right speaker. So if you can find this on vinyl snatch it.

Sounds interesting, what do you think? Didn't someone else around here mention it recently? I might need to get this one...

Me, Radar Bros. Auditorium, low budget title and cover art (kinda like yours), but very nice shimmy on this one. If only some of these bands had my imagination... :)

Yeah, I mentioned Admiral Radley in a different thread. Click the Album art above and you can go hear (and see a video) for the album above. It's worth the 'trip' !

Kudos to Nicholas Payton ~ Into the Blue. It's got some nice tracks. I had Drucilla on my Best of 2008 comp.

I have about 3 or 4 sounds of blackness CD's. Actually they are my wifes...they are a contemporary gospel group.

In light of today's "Comtemporary Christian" that is a slam to SOB. I find Sounds of Blackness more R&B with some unique arrangements and choral accents. Africa To America also has some well done influence from African music. This particular album is a good blend of influences, including some horns and funk.
