I see you posted that on your previous post....duh. I have that on vinyl. Not that it's a bad copy, but I've been trying to get a cleaner copy and it has been a long journey. I did find one last month, but it had a huge scratch on the first track on side 2. I would've paid over $100 in an instant if it didnt have that scratch. Or well. That album is incredible. Iron City and The Latin Bit, not so much. I think I'll spin His Majestik King Funk later tonight.

    I enjoyed,

    Ron Miles - Witness

Have a great Monday to all.

I dont like fake boobs, but I like how your surgery turned out. I didnt bother clicking on the image to make it bigger this time around. Anyways,

Got done playing Grant Green, His Majesty King Funk LP

I'll pick Larry Young's Into Something CD I recently picked up to stay with Larry and Grant. This album has Sam Rivers on sax, and Elvin Jones on beats.

The beginning of the end for TSOL. Personnel changes were in effect and the sound was different than before, but they still retained an energy and rough edge on this one that still draws me in...even if its not a "real" TSOL album. (I think there were like 2 original members on this one...before the slide into that strange world where there was still a band called TSOL that featured 0 original members and looked like a hair metal band.)

    Crime Don't Pay

    Nice tunes Bert.

Without jinxing anything good luck Jayra and congrats on a successful introductory interview. Cinci would put you right in the neighborhood. If you get the gig let me know and we'll get together and spin some tunes, but you gotta leave yer bra-wearin', Mike Ness wannabe, tattoo-freak, goat-sniffin' friend at home...

Hiro - good luck with the interviews, and take your time.
Bobsticks - Mike Ness - you are full of surprises. I love that album. Good Call.

Anyway on the round spot over here is:

"Band of Horses - Everything all the Time".

A great debut and superb recording. Some similarities to My Morning Jacket.Good Stuff.

    the prodigal son returns

Hey B, good to hear that you have time for spinnin', and yeah, I still throw down on occassion...

Currently Gary Moore gets another spin 'round these parts. The Back To The Blues DVD-A is one I've been flogging for awhile, but it just doesn't get old. While offering nothing grounbreaking, it has some great boogie-blues and some swanky brass on "You Upset Me Baby" which I believe is an old BB King standard. Good stuff.

To Bert. Thank you for that. I hope so too. As Bernd stated, I need to take my time and see who I want to work for. Not something I can just say, "Yup, Im gonna work for that company 10+years"

Thanks Bernd and will let you know as soon as the package arrives.

And, to bobsticks. I thought you lived in Michigan somewhere?

I dont know why, but I'm fixing to play some Fleetwood Mac.

    Good day to all,

    np:

Ahmed Jamal - the essence part 2 / Big Byrd (which i think is reffering to Donald Byrd, he also plays in that album)

Shirley Horn - May the music never end.

Revisiting Norah Jones~Feels Like Home which, I believe, needs no comment other than aaaahhh.

No J, I think I may have referenced Detroit in past threads as I grew up in Michigan. Somehow in my efforts to continuously move south I got stalled in Indianapolis. Yay.

Sisters of Mercy: Some Girls Wander By Mistake

A CD collection of all of their pre major-label singles. Includes such gems as the extended version of temple of Love and covers of the Stoogs 1969 and the Stones Gimmie Shelter. More purcussive and stripped down than their later work. Mostly just drum machine, bass and guitar with pulsating beats and echoey vocals. Good stuff if that's your bag.

...that was my bag in its entirety. I think I've logged more hours listening to SOM than any other artist. Period. Great stuff, indeed--lumbering like a locomotive and vengeful as he77.

Rarely does a post inspire me but I have just slipped The Sisterhood~Gift into the machine. This is the hard-to-find EP that Eldritch quickly released in order to confound the departing Wayne Hussey from using the name. Highlights include "Giving Ground" with Alan Vega (Suicide) on vocals and "Rain From Heaven with James Ray.

Good luck with your job interviews. I have enjoyed both Cincinatti and Detroit and would vote for Cincinatti. Just a little safer in my opinion. Of course audio is not cheap so the dollars may help you decide.

Thank you John. I will be flying into Ohio on the monday for an interview, and 2 weeks later to Ohio again for another.. Nice to have companies showing interest in me, but Jr. Hymmie needs time for some personal/music time . Well, got another interview in about an hour from a corporation in SF so trying to relax..

Listening to some hippity hop to stay sharp....yes it does that for me
