Some NEW stuff this week.

Stan Ridgway has a new album called "Snakebite". I got an advance copy a few days ago and it's pretty good. The writing is as enjoyable as ever, but I find the arrangements to be a little too sparse for my taste. there's a great song on here; "Talking Wall of Voodoo Blues" about the history of WOV and how they were just a bunch of kids that got screweed by the business. It's really tongue in cheek, yet still bitter as hell. Overall, the songs are similar to Anatomy, but the arrangements are similar to Black Diamond. Fans will love it, but it's not the place for newbies.

Air- Talkie Walkie. Found myself in a Tower over the weekend and they were playing this in the store. I LOVED it's low key and simple melodic style. It's arty as all hell, yet poppy at the same time. Mellow sunday music.

Mad Rhetorik sent me "Spiral Architect", a prog metal disc and I gotta just say "NO!" Didn't like it one bit. It's just a bunch of notes streaking up and down scales with a screechy catterwauling singer. The writing and melody was pretty much non existant from where I sit. Sorry. Thanks for sending it Mad, it was worth a try . . .

And I'm glad that you guys are spinning and enjoying the Garage Band disc. It was an incredible amount of work to compose and construct. Thanks for taking the time to give it listen.
