mikhael i don't think was fully dead at the electric fence. he got his butt kicked for sure, but i think with just a leeeetle bit of life left in anybody, they can survive. hence his line about the girl, she'll be ok in a day or so... that's a MIGHTY fast recovery.

everyone heals... but pregnant women die... and henry's cancer...

Sooo, back to Lost...I was just about ready to say "see, I told ya so" on Juliet until the last few minutes where she spoke into the recorder and said "I hate you" in reference to Ben.
Okay, so she's the lone wolf now. How's this gonna play out? Is Jack going to steer her to the good side, or will her desire to get off the island and knowledge of the Others eerie powers going keep her loyal to Ben? Now I just don't know. I'm guessing she goes good because that could probably advance the plot more...she'll be ready to turn them over to Ben and the Others, then at the last minute have a change of heart and save them or kill Ben or something...

I wonder if she survives season 3? Maybe she's this season's Anna Lucia?

Who do you mean when you say "good side?" I thought the Others were the good ones.

Are they dead or not? Didn't they check Boris' pulse after he got zapped by the fence? I mean, his eye was open and foam was coming out of his mouth, IIRC! That's not dead?!? Maybe people that are impregnated on the island die because they are in a sort of purgatory where no new life can be created. Claire was able to have a baby on the island because both the baby and her are already dead anyway.

Next week's teaser show Locke wanting Sawyer to kill "Ben," who you can bet is his dear 'ol dad with a bag over his head. Looks like it's going to be more of Sawyer's back story. FA may want to watch this one closely ;).

Other forums say she was speaking portuguese at that point and said to Mikhail: "I'm not alone".
    "Cultural references
    * Naomi (the parachutist) speaks many languages:
o "Me estoy muriendo" is Spanish for "I am dying" (from the captions)
o "Aiutame sto morendo" is Italian for "Help me I'm dying" (from the captions)
o She mutters in an "asian language" (from the captions) which Jin claims is Chinese,
    not Korean
o After Mikhail and Desmond treat Naomi's wound, she says something in Portuguese not spelled out in the captions. It is not "Thank you" as Mikhail claims. Instead, it sounds like "Eu não estou só" which is Portuguese (spoken with a Brazilian accent) for "I am not alone." This is possibly in conjunction with the discovery of the backpack containing the book entitled "Ardil 22" the Portuguese-language version of "Catch 22."

Ever since last week when they first showed her, I've been trying to figure out who the parachutist is...as an actress I mean. I knew that I recognized her...I even knew she was British (or thereabouts), but I couldn't quite place her. Finally, I realized that she played Nessa on Las Vegas a couple of years ago.

I love Jin and Sun's backstory. There are so many layers. What hit me last night is, for a couple who love each other so "madly", they sure do tell each other a lot of lies. Even if I wanted to protect my husband from some terrible news, in the end I know that I would tell him the truth. As painful as truth is, being lied to by someone that you love and trust is worse. They obviously live by different values.

As much as Juliet may hate Ben, she's tied to him and doing his dirty deeds. He's her only hope of getting home. As long as he can keep that hope alive in her, she's his puppet. She may hate him. She may even hate herself for following his orders. But she'll keep doing it for as long as she needs to. The Losties don't have a hope in hell of getting off the island and she knows it.

I don't believe that anyone found the wreckage of flight 815, as parachute girl claims. At this point, we don't know her, who she is, or where she came from. Why should we take, at face value, anything that she says? My second theory is that, if the wreckage was found, it was planted by The Others on the outside to cover up that the plane actually landed on the island. What better way to get someone to stop looking for something than by giving them something to find?

i wonder if they (penny?) sent this team or this pilot here because they knew this place was some bermuda triangle and would have many people of many ethnicities 'trapped' here and so whoever they sent would have to be able to communicate with them, hence her multilingual sos as she's dying.

You are right on different values, but for the wrong reasons. I think the Asian culture is vastly different than the US. Here we place much higher value on the individual, and individual achievments. In Japan, it is a much greater collective society. I think that for Jin, the fact that his wife hid the truth is much less of a problem than if she had come clean. The shame of his past probably would have driven him to either kill himself or leave forever. I was discussing it with my wife, and we both agreed we didn't agree with it, but we don't live in Japan.

Here in America, your father can be a fisherman, and your mother a prostitute. If you prosper, you are lauded for your hard work, and ability to overcome circumstances that may be less than ideal. In Japan, (not unlike India) you are pigionholed into your 'birthright'. Once a fisherman's son, always a fishermans son. Son of a prostitute? Forget about a bright future.

At this point, I don't think the Others have much chance of getting off again either. The communications building is gone, the sub is destroyed, and the Pulse is gone. Unless they have the 'Dharma Super Secret, double secret hidden portal to the outside' I think they are pretty much f*cked at this point as well.

As for the motivation for Juliet, I don't know at this point.

Bingo. The wreckage was staged elsewhere. A good wreckage in the ocean would leave few bodies if the ditched in the ocean. Lots of free food for the sharks and whatnot. Depending upon location, the seachers would be happy to just find the black box, and some identifying marks of the plane.

Maybe Patchy knows the time travel secret. Why should Desmond have all the fun?

I think that when Patchy was electrocuted he was sent back to his "other world". But then something happened there to send him back to the island. Only he came back after the electrocution. Just like Desmond came back after the hatch blew up.

Was he even electrocuted? Maybe he just got a really bad jolt that made him all foamy and unconscious...it could happen.

Pretty sure they die on the island and stay dead. Arst ain't comin' back. Anna Lucia burned her bridges too.

interesting... maybe that's why he knew exactly where to go in the massive forest to get to the one odd spot they were... OR....

the others were also watching the sky and saw where she landed and sent Patches O'Hoolihan to find out what was going on.

At the time, I thought he was either happy:
-that the questions & trip were done.
-that he wouldn't have to see Benry,
-that they proved how bad they are.
-that Lockie had taken the next step for some unknown plan.

    Well, how about that?
    My name is Sawyer too.

    Chills.

Great epidode! Confirmation that Locke's Daddy was the original Sawyer. The return of Sawyer's childhood letter. I loved that he told Locke to stop calling him James. I'll bet that now, he'll want to stop using the name Sawyer and will tell everyone to call him James...but he won't tell them why.

What is the guy who recruited Juliet (I like to call him Dr. Bright Eyes) doing back on the island and how did he get there?!

What is Rousseau going to do with that box of dynamite?

And...what is it that Juliet wants to tell Kate and that Jack doesn't want her to?

Tune in next time...same Bat time, same Bat channel.
