    newbie question for ya

    I was wondering exactly what an spl meter is and exactly what it is used for. Thanks in advance!

    It measures sound volume so you can set all your speaker levels the same from your seat. If your receiver goes from say -60 to +18 you then set it to 00. Then independently set each speaker level to 75db. Use c weighting on the meter. 00 will then be your reference volume.
