Ok, what is everyones 10 albums that they would take if they knew that they were going to be stranded on an Island for a lengthy period of time. The rules are:

You must choose 10 albums from any generation, no compilations (soundtracks are not allowed unless it's a score) or greatest hits albums.
You cannot choose any artists more than once.
Other than that...pick away and provide at least some reasons for your selections....

Here are my choices:

David Bowie: ZIGGY STARDUST - so many great albums to choose from, but this one takes the cake mainly for the songs It Aint' Easy and Lady Stardust

Jocelyn Pook's UNTOLD THINGS - great laid back and mellow for those evenings of contemplation on the island.

Philip Glass THE HOURS soundtrack - superb contemplative recording.

Stevie Wonder's INNERVISIONS - bring some funk and reality into the picture for those ocassions of joy.

Sigur Ros AGAETIS BYRJUN - just something fun to listen to.

Jimi Hendrix BAND OF GYPSIES - one of my favorite guitar-driven recordings.

Alan Parsons Project EYE IN THE SKY - Hmmm. I just like this album for some odd reason.

Nada Surf LET GO - just a cool album with loads of memories.

Elliott FALSE CATHEDRALS - also many memories.

Paloalto SELF TITLED - memories and hope.
