...the distinction??? ROTFLMAO!!! I'll never understand why conservatives get so unhappy unless everyone sees it from their POV. People are different, accept it and move on. Your view of a hero is different from someone else's view of a hero. Neither one is accurate, except in one's mind. How intolerant of you to think the whole world must follow your thinking. Did you ever notice that Switzerland does not get terrorized? They don't walk around flexing their muscles and trying to tell others how to live. When you presume to be the authority figure for the world, you have to understand that it is human nature for some to obey authority, but there will also always be those who fight authority.

We have no more business in the middel east. Where is Bin Laden? He doesn't appear to pose anymore of a theat. So the Robin Williams peace plan looks good to me.

THE ROBIN WILLIAMS PEACE PLAN

This may very well be the best thought out item we have read since 9/11/01.
Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan ... what we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.

1. The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those good ol' boys: We will never "interfere" again.

2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the fence.

3. All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4. All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5. No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" (for "deport") and it's back home baby.

6. The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7. Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8. If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere," They can pray to Allah or whomever for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to the Army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9. Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The language we speak is ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE...

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.
The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying "Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, "You want a piece of me?"

We don't need another Vietnam. I know that Defense is our biggest industry, but why? Why is it our job to police the world and tell everyone how to live? Where are all you Republicans now when we talk about big government? I know how we can cut taxes, military cuts. If Dubya is really looking for WMD, he doesn't have to look overseas, we have plenty right here in the good ole US of A. Half the time we're fighting battles against our own weapons. We arm Iraq so they can fight Iran (in the 70's when the Ayatollah was evil), then Iraq is our enemy. We arm Afghanistan (in the 80's when USSR was our enemy), then Afghanistan is our enemy. Now we're paying Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Syria to be our allies. Are we really naive enough to think that this won't come back and bite us in the ass? It's a never ending cycle fueled by the biggest business in the USA, the military. Whether it's Iraq, Afghanistan, Grenada, Somolia, Vietnam, Korea or wherever, the defense department needs to justify their budget, just like any big corporation. It's the governments job to 'spin' the situation so their largest business has the support of the American people. That way the big business can constantly test their latest toys and give their new employees live training. It's good for business.

That's just my opinion and I do realize that others think differently, and that's okay with me. You are entitled to your opinion, just don't trick yourself into beleiving that an opinion is fact. Mtrycrafts tought me that.

Gotta run, time to make the donuts.
