Eva is free to do as she likes. I have plenty more. She'll be back when she wants to be.

I feel a deep obligation to preserve this thread as a one stop reference point for all things SVI.

Thanks to basite for this addition to the archives. Since http://www.velociraptor.4t.com/ went down I thought the final chapter to the saga had been written. finis.

But, good news for all, the saga continues at
    http://www.justleftofbrilliance.4t.com

And a new chapter is underway in our own forum
    I decided

now if I could just remember my password to his forum...

    Good Heavens!

WHAT the H3LL has happened here?

I take a walk for a couple of months, and upon my return I find utter bedlam!
It's.. it's Dr. Tarr & Prof. Feather. Good Lord!

Got curious about this SVI thing, so I took the crash course. Wish I hadn't.
I find myself wondering, does the running end of a hangman's noose really
have to take 13 turns around the standing end, or is that just tradition. I don't
    know why I'm thinking that...

Man, I've found a new MMORG called "Throw Yourself Off A Cliff." I may go
check that out; it's gotta be safer than hanging around here waiting to catch
    whatever it is y'all got.

Anyway, Happy New Year to all y'all in this nuthatch.

(Note to self: Get a second opinion on ANY advice obtained at this site.)

    Hmm...

Rich, you seem to be as-yet uninfected.
Why? What factor is it that has rendered you immune?
We may be able to figure this thing out and save the site.

You don't drink "squeeze" (sterno) do you? (What was the name of that movie?)

That was a good chuckle. Just when I was going to add a post I realized that the thread had been locked. Too bad. Fun stuff!

Probably time to archive and bump. If anything was ever actually retained, I swear SVI/Dallas/Joe_Carr would be the da Vinci of our times in audio instead of the Rain Man. None rise to great heights yet. But, there's hope. Maybe abandoned hope is good enough.

If I were to sell my $50 Sonys for $25 and use that $25 to buy a pair of JBL’s that are on sale for $50, and then sell them for $25 and put that $25 towards a set of Altec Lancing speakers for $50, should I sell those for $25 so I can buy back the Sony’s I used to own? Because they had 3 inch woofers instead of the 2.5 inch woofers that the Altec Lancing speakers do but the specs on the JBL’s say they go down to 15 htz while the Sony’s only go down to 17. Do you think the highs on the JBL’s will suffer even though I think they sound great? But maybe they don’t sound as great as the Sony’s because they have magnets made from ore found in Tibet? I need to know because my boyfriend who I’ve never met but sends me his used underwear to keep under my pillow may be visiting next year. He isn’t into high end audio like I am but I want to make a good impression. He may have another boy friend and if I do not impress him he may take his underwear back and I don’t think that I could stand that because I’ve become used to holding them to my face at night while I sleep. If he takes them back I may not ever be able to sleep again.
By the way, have I ever told you the story about my white glove?

Thanks I was trying to forget the white glove fiasco. Maybe we could find gloves
with a zip lock seal so nothing is lost. Just like a hand in a glove.

Man, you might just get one of those "Your hurt my feelings" responses for that one.

I can't believe that it's been over 5 years that he started F'ing with us here.

Funny part is, I never knew what the deal was with the white gloves. A mod (I think you) had removed the punch line befire I saw what it was about. My mind's eye thanks you.

I don't think that he reads any threads that he didn't start. At least, I've never seen him post in one.

Yes it was me and I almost banned him over his telling us what he did once he donned the latex glove.

    Nooooooooooo!

oh man, I thought I had finally forgotten that bit of gloveliness (shiver, twitch). Our fearless moderator deserves some sort of congressional medal for his heroic actions. Dozens of minds might have been lost to madness, depression and overall ickyness were those posts not removed. "Sanitized for you protection" has never been truer.

And the madness continues. I loved the part about the troll and the goldfish. May they find happiness together.
