Certainly computer Blu-ray rewriter drives exist.

Looks to me like for Blu-ray playback a multimedia computer with Blu-ray ROM or rewiter drive and HDMI output is the flexible way to go. These are becoming pretty mainstream, I think.

Cool, thanks. But are these available to average Joe yet? The prices must be up there at this point.
Glad to see prices on players coming down though. When they hit the sub $100 I may pick one up for the bedroom.

These are all prototypes coming out soon.
BUT for a measley 775 $ you can get a Blu cdrom for your computer.
Beter yet a blu player for the computer is 149 bucks.
That oughta draw the X-box add on market.
C'mon GM, I KNOW you have the scratch.

Just think, a 114$ gets you a LITE- ON BLU disc player for your computer.
I have had a lite -on drive for my computer(must be working because the lites on and they work, mostly.
The foundation of sub 200 buck players also.

You'll need a Mobo or add-on sound card that can pass the six digital channels to an HDMI output, otherwise you'r looking at NTSC on TV and listening to analog.

Not to mention a "hot" video card.
My 256 mb ati barely cuts HD, and the dvi>hdmi adapter wont work
