what could cause SW to cutout during movies?

    Hi all

have a JBL PB10 subwoofer only 6 months old. Denon 2801 Receiver. Sub connected to SW output and running at approx 60% of full setting on Sub, and 0dB sub gain on Receiver.

After about 1 hour of use, regardless of whether it's a DD5.1 dvd, or stereo music CD, the sub starts switching off for a split-second then comes back on. It does this every few minutes.

The sub has been checked by the warranty agent (supposedly) who of course says there's nothing wrong with it.

Is it possible that a Sub output from receiver could fault like this?

I've changed the interconnect coax, and even the powerpoint for the Sub! still happens.

    would appreciate any advice...experience...

    thanks

    S

Well the PB-10 has been known to have...

a lot of problems. However if you changed out the power amp and cables and it STILL does it, it must be the send unit on the receiver. That's all it could be, unless the wiring's crossed inside the cabinet. Try a friends sub and see if it shorts out as well, if it does... you've found the culprit.
