True, but that is the only real way bi-wiring has much promise. Otherwise, you may want to use two separate amps from an HT receiver but use different gauge wire for top and bottom.

Most bi-wire cables are two amp connections of two wires each and split off into four leads for the speakers. All this does is eliminate the jumpers, nothing more.
