Recent DVD Purchases

Ever since it was announced and withdrawn and then reannounced after the series began airing on Sci-Fi Channel, I'd been planning to get the new Doctor Who: Series One DVD set and I bought it last week when it came out. At the same time, Fry's Electronics had Jackie Chan's New Police Story on special for $13 and Beavis and Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection Volume 2 for $20, so I picked those up as well.

Drumline is a great demo soundtrack. Lot of big bass drums and excellent surround mixing with the marching bands and drumlines. Your system will have a field day with this one!

I was looking at that BB twofer sale as well, but I made a couple of impulse buys the last couple of weeks, so I should probably get around to actually watching what I've already purchased before stocking up on more!

Yep, you're right about "good movie" being a subjective term. And nowadays, the timeline between when a DVD gets released and when the prices gets reduced to prop up flagging demand seems to be getting shorter and shorter. I mean, it wouldn't sound right for world famous bargain hunter Smokey to buy a DVD before it had gone through two or three rounds of price reductions!
