    Av Cable Splice

hi all, tryed to splice rca audio cable with 14ga speaker wire in the middle of both ends, need to make 25' run to my TV converter box and a pre amp using tape2 selector. Had this set up before and it worked fine untill I made the splice. Can anyone tell me why this splice connection dosn't work? Thanks for any help, Jack

    Bad bad bad bad idea

Even if splice work fine, you are jeopardizing your signal integrity, including subject to external noise (especially for such a long run).

Why not buy a coax cable and terminate each end with RF-to-RCA adaptor plugs. You will get better results
