I will be bringing the Fisher home tomorrow!!
Will need to see the complete rundown that was done but I know the tube sockets were replaced, bias set and the tape switch replaced. Tech indicated it appears to be in very good shape inside.

Unfortunately I leave on a business trip on Sunday and will not get to spend much time with it. Looking forward to hooking it up to the Heresy II's!

    Tangent by Klipsch

Found these little gems on CL. Tangent were an attempt by Klipsch to mass market some of their speakers. Many of the Tangent are slightly modified versions of higher end Klipsch models. My rationale for getting these (besides the price) was that the K-77 tweeter in them is the same as the tweeter used in my Heresy II's. If I ever need to replace one in my Heresy's I am set.

Currently I use a pair of Heresy I's as the front speakers in my main HT so I have decided to use these as the rear surrounds because I think they are sonically closer to the Heresy's than the Klipsch KM2's I had in place.

This model is the T10 with walnut sides. The grills have a few issues but being all black they are not significant and not visible unless you get real close. Soundwise they are very good and I think will make excellent surrounds. High WAF rating with the walnut cabinet.

The fisher will be a great combo with the speakers. Hopefully the wife won't be mad for the new addition.

I picked up a Luxman K-112 cassette deck, yesterday. I haven't figured out where to put it. I don't want it on top of my DAC and phono preamp, so I think I'll make another shelf for this IKEA unit.

    ...added a clearer photo.

It is indeed a 3-head. It has some pretty impressive specs, so I need to find me some quality blank tape to try it out. So far, all I have are pre-recorded tapes picked up from the used books store.

I played some pre-recorded tapes on it. They sound very nice for tape, but obviously a step down from the turntable and CD player.

Red face SherWood S-8500 Floor Speakers, any value?

    Hi ALL!
I just got a hold of a pair of Sherwood s-8500 Floor Speakers, yes speakers, not a receiver of the same name! I can't find out anything about these speakers. Were they any good in the day? Are they of any value today? Or are they just 2 pieces of fake firewood?
    Thanks, Ted

How do they sound? They look like nice cabinets, well made, like they have some girth to them.

    Audio Ted II;
    Sorry:
Not much luck finding info on these.Found one post on another forum about a different model,S-8200 about the same as yours. From the looks they were sold with a rack system, and not as separates. They look nice,so if you like what you hear, thats all that matters.

I agree if you like them and they work might as well use them for something. The truth is though speakers sold with rack systems, no matter the brand, were typically cheezy.
