Question: Tweeter replacement in older speaker?

Hey-I have a seven year old set of deftech bp2000's. Is it neccesary to replace tweeters or midrange after a certain amount of usage-Should it help or hurt? Has anyone else replaced parts and benefitted from it? Thanks for your input!

Midrange speakers just about never need replacement (unless they are physically damaged). Tweeters only need replaced if they get overloaded and burn out. When you blow out a speaker with two much volume you will know it. Speakers last indefinitely with the exception of the foam surround on some speakers (mostly woofers) which has a tendency to rot out after time (this two can be repaired) So to answer your question, no your speakers do not need replacement unless they get damaged in some way.
