OK I'll try to be a bigger man to.

SVI...It's not all about the equipment (although this is important). I have a very modest system that is mostly older quality stuff but I spend the time to properly place the speakers and calibrating everything I can within reason. IMO my systems sound substantially better than most of my friends who spend thousands more on equipment, plunk down the speakers and then don't give it anymore thought.

So my advice to you is...optimize what you have first then identify the weak links before upgrading anything.
