    Lets Help SVI

Ok guys, he's asked stupid questions, he made stupid comments, but I think its now our duty to help him discover the world of hi-fi

I've looked up some places near him that hopefully he can visit and be amazed by the sound of real speakers.

    here they are:

    The Sound Environment
    http://soundenvironment.com/
    11021 Elm St
    Omaha, NE 68144
    (402) 391-3842

Actually, a better bet would be
    Custom Electronics, Omaha
    http://customelectronics.tv/
They carry tons of brands that you'd enjoy, do the same as the other one, just go in, and ask for some help, bring some of your favourite CD's and ask to listen, you'll be pleased you did!

Ok, he lives in Omaha, NE

Lets help him, find some store, give some suggestions.

SVI, you'd better read this and follow what we say

    You da man!!
Good luck on your efforts to convert SVI.

I am leaving for the road for a week.
I look forward to see where this goes.
Hell I could probably use the same advice......

OK I'll try to be a bigger man to.

SVI...It's not all about the equipment (although this is important). I have a very modest system that is mostly older quality stuff but I spend the time to properly place the speakers and calibrating everything I can within reason. IMO my systems sound substantially better than most of my friends who spend thousands more on equipment, plunk down the speakers and then don't give it anymore thought.

So my advice to you is...optimize what you have first then identify the weak links before upgrading anything.

Sorry to bore all the people in the know but we need to start with the basics first.

yep, i agree, basics first, but he really needs to hear some hi-fi stuff to set some goals, to think, just a few days ago he was thinking of putting a $100 "subwoofer" into his system.

So, I just hope SVI is going to read this, cause WE WANT TO HELP YOU SVI!!

The way I see it is that SVI is like a McRib. Comes around once in a while. Everyone geeks out over it for a short while. Then everyone gets sick out it.

Hey Mr. SVI, you need a new approach. Dont become a flavor of the month.

I don't think SVI clicks on threads that he didn't create. How will he find this one?

This thread has started to remind of those movies were a bunch of "princesses" pcik on the fat kid for a while then decide to make a peace offering by giving her a make-over. This has turned into/started out as a "forumized audio-over".
that makes as much sense as a drunken mongoose playing the piano

That's a nice gesture, but you assume he wants to learn.

I'm of the belief that he already knows all he wants to know and just wants affirmation.

What's this? A thread called SVI with no posts from SVI? What a disapointment.

Does he post with two identities? What does he do, fight with himself? Is it possible that this Icswoosh guy is Adam?

Check out the thread "Something interesting". It is also an SVI thread and about JBL speakers. Should brighten your day a little.

You mean SVI? Yeah, he finally owed up to it after several regulars pointed out the similarities in syntax, style and subject matter. Of course, he denied it at first...

Why not? After all, he plays with himself. Why shouldn't he fight with himself also?

Seems reasonable. I fight with me all the time.
