    JBL or Klipsch

    Howdy,

I'm looking to add some surround speakers and a center channel to my system. I'm looking at the Klipsch sc1 and ss1 vs. the JBL Northridge n24ii, E10, and ec25 or 35. I've read really good reviews for the Klipsch speakers and the n24, however, I can't find much on the e10 or ec series. And the JBL's seem to be a little easier on the wallet.

    Thanks in advance.

    Howdy Trapjaw,

What are your mains? It is usuallly best to timbre match the center and the mains by getting them from the same manufaturer and the same series to have a seamless soundstage. When the sound goes across the screen you don't want it change tone in the middle.

    Hope that helps.

    TinHere,

Your post certainly makes sense, however, my "current" equipment isn't all that current so it might be tuff finding the same series. Here is what I'm working with right now-

    Receiver - Sony STR-D915
    Mains - JBL G300 (http://jbl.com/home/products/product...CheckProduct=Y)

I'm really hoping to upgrade the receiver real soon (looking at the Yamaha rx-v1400), but for now I'd like to add some decent speakers to what I already have that could carry over to v1400... someday.

Thanks for your help. It is truly appreciated and very needed.

    I'd go with the JBL...

cause the drivers are made of the same material as your mains are. Atleast the tweeter is. It should match up pretty well, but to be sure, you can call JBL and ask them it would match well with your current speakers.
