center channel with projector screen

Hi,
I am thinking to buy a center channel , but I am not sure where to place it. I watch movies on a projector screen that is not sound transparent and is deployed in front of my TV. If I put the speaker in front of the screen at ear level it will obstruct the TV screen. If I put the speaker on top of the TV it will go behind the projector screen, so my only option would be to place it very low, close to the floor. Anybody tried something like that?

Seen it done in a store with the speaker on a stand and slightly angled upward. sounded fine.
