    A hurried list

I've been too busy the last few weeks to post at great length.

Mendelssohn, Symphonies Nos. 3 (Scottish) and 4 (Italian); Hebrides Overture. Dohnany, Vienna Philharmonic.

Sibelius, Symphonies Nos. 5-7, Maazel, Vienna Philharmonic.

Beehoven, Symphony no. 3; Sibelius, Symphony No. 7. Tintner, Symphony Nova Scotia, on Naxos. This is surprisingly one of the best Sibelius 7ths there is.

    Dire Straits, On Every Street.

Lars Erik-Larssen, Disguised God, on Marco Polo. Our local choral group is learning this piece.

Bach, Violin Concertos. Zino Francescattie, violin; Baumgartner, Lucerne Festival Strings..

Borodin, Symphony no. 2. Jean Martinon, London Symphony, on London's The World of Borodin.

Diana Krall, All For You and When I Look Into Your Eyes.

The Best of Peter, Paul and Mary.

Ravel, Rapsodie Espagnole, Bolero; Chabrier, Espana; Falla, El Amor Brujo. Ansermet, Suisse Romande Orchestra.

Mussorgsky-Ravel, Pictures at an Exhibition. Ansermet, Suisse Romande Orchestra.

Schumann, Symphonies Nos. 1 (Spring) and 3 (Rhenish). Antoni Wit, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, on Naxos.
"Opposition brings concord. Out of discord comes the fairest harmony."
------Heraclitus of Ephesis (fl. 504-500 BC), trans. Wheelwright.

Been listening to pretty mainstream stuff lately, however ITunes has some great electronica. Most of the stuff in the last couple of years has been pretty monotonous.
Fractal Glider,Rastaliens,Twisted Hobo are some of the most innovative stuff Ive heard in the electronic scene.
To the mainstream,I cannot get enough of the Killers Hotfuss album. The mix of 80s new wave with todays "punk" is really catchy, addicting.
Saw an earlier post with Mussorgsky, wondered if they had heard the MoFi SACD with St Louis Symphony, guaranteed to dust off the drivers in your stereo.
This weekend goin to be hairband weekend,I am sure the neighbors downstairs will be thrilled.
