I like Ozric Tenticles, but not so sure about the recording quality.

The three Ozric Tentacles cd's I mentioned above (Curious Corn, Hidden Step & Waterfall Cities) have some of the most earth-shaking bass grooves I have ever heard. If you have a sub or a good full-range speaker you'll be amazed with them.

have you heard of Peter Murphy? His album; "DEEP" is recorded so crystal clear, just amazing.
