    Cool White Flag

    Not a song by Dido.
Toshiba has thrown in the towel, and they are putting out a Blu player by
the holiday shopping season, which they didn't want to miss.
One of their factions actually wanted to come out with another
format to battle blu, but wiser heads prevailed

It will be interesting to see which road they take, building a cheap player to sell at give away price like the HD-DVD or build a quality product that might go head to head with Sony or Panny. I couldn't see them going any higher than that but who knows.

I was hearing word that the big boxes were putting all kinds of pressure on Toshiba to bundle a Bluray player with their televisions like every other manufacturer is doing. I've been hearing this for a hair less than a year now, and it looks like they finally relented. It doesn't hurt the cause that they basically got rid of all those HD DVD supporters who lost them billions of dollars

Those bundled BD players seem to be showing up on Craigslist and eBay. I bought an LG BD370 from a Craigslist seller, today. I connected the TOSlink to the DAC and I'm rockin' a Jewel concert BD.

The disk set is called Jewel: The Essential Live Songbook. It contains two concerts...one at the Meyerson in Dallas and the other at the Rialto Square theater in Joliet, Illinois. I like the one at Rialto Square better, but they're very similar.
