    See Dishnet's new PPV cmmercials?

Dishnet is claiming 1080p on their HD PPV channels and claiming Blu-Ray video equality. I haven't tried it, I'm waiting until I upgrade my processor so I can use a HDMI connection. I'm not very satisfied with Dish's sound quality via optical digital. I'm hoping the HDMI will yield some improvement. I was surprised to hear them doing 1080p, that would be quite a job. It would seem they couldn't use any compression or have some way of doing a lossless video comprssion and uncompression to pull it off. It would be impossible to do a direct comparison but theoretically this would make their PPV better than over the air HD. This is one of those things I'd say you will have to see to believe. I've been really impressed with OTA HD.

    Cool

    well, they're really pushing it.
A two page ad in every section of usa today.
A hdmi connection doesnt nessesarily mean 1080p btw, my cablebox has it for 1080i.
I know that Dish is claiming that, but not all 1080p is created equal.
The ultralong Batman begins was barely as good as broadcast,
for instance, even in some action scenes the bit rate was under 30 mbs.
IF YOU HAVE A 72OP SET, LIKE MR P AND I both do, it wouldnt be worth the money, but its nice to know that progress is being made.
