    Cool 3D warning

There was a warning the other day about the "new" 3D format.
Certain groups should not watch it for very long.
Could cause headaches and other symptoms.
And childern under the age of six shouldn't watch it at all.
Where did this warning come from, some hater of the new format?
    no.
It came from Samsung, a maker of 3D TV.
I never thought this stuff was ready for prime time.
GLAD the peeps who make it agree with me.
TALK about a lawsuit just waiting to happen.....

Some folks get motion sickness and shouldn't ride roller coasters or view anything that might disrupt their sense of balance. As a pilot, scuba diver, skydiver and motorcyclist, it is the opposite situation for me. The flying scenes in Avatar rendered in IMAX 3D were simply breathtaking. The "thrill-junkie" factor went through the roof - give me more!

Such realism is not for everyone.

So now they need to take a few of the Japanese Anime movies that cause seizures and redo it in 3D to be used for all 3D TV demos. That way, you will know at the store whether or not you should be buying one. If you are rushed to the hospital, you have your answer.

I do see this as a problem for those parents that think a PC and a TV is an actual babysitter and pay no attention to what they are doing and watching.

Parents will come home from work to find there children lying on the floor twitching and foaming at the mouth.

    Cool

I have posted several messages that might constru that I AM "ANTI-3D".
Not so, but if they don't get this right the first time it won't come back for twenty years, if ever.
Get it right, whats the hurry?
As for peeps being "ready" for such "realism", that has nothing to do with weather or
not they have a physiological reaction to it.

I knew somebody would take this out of context, and it figures it would be pixeless.

The warning was issued by Samsung as a means of protecting themselves from litigation from some fool who would become addicted to 3D viewing and damage his eyes, and to make sure that the unknowing would not view 3D when they have eye issues or some health or neurological issues. I have also stated this same thing on this forum as well.

3D can(I emphasize CAN) effect people who are intoxicated, pregnant woment, and people who have issues with virtigo, or the enability to focus on centrally located images. It can also have a negative effect on kids who's eye muscles have not fully developed, those subject to photosynthesis problems, are sleep deprived as it CAN cause an epileptic seizure or stroke when exposed to certain flashing images or lights contained in certain television pictures or video games.

According to the lastest research on this issue, that would be about 6% of Americans(and this is just a estimate.

IMO this is a non issue because viewing in moderation will not cause any problems with the remaining 94% of the viewing public.

Let's be real and put this in perspective, anything done in excess is going to harm you, even multi vitamins and water. This is nothing more than a warning issued to protect the CE companies from lawsuits brought on by 3D abuse by the viewer, and people with health and eye issues and trying to make the CE companies responsible for it. 3D viewed in moderation is not harmful to anyone.

When I read the first post I assumed it was something of this nature...between the idiots and the scammers any kind of innovation is potentially treacherous...

Such a "warning" won't hold water, legal or otherwise.
Cigarettes have warnings all over them.
AND DUMPTRUCKS say "stay back 300 feet", that has never saved them from having to pay for a windsheild.
You can't sell crack, with just a mention that its slighty addictive

Maybe so, but you still can't buy a Bic lighter that doesn't say to make sure that the flame is out before you put it away.
