Help large dull spot on screen

I Have a new Toshiba 51hx83 I've noticed a dull section in the upper center of the screen. It's about 6 inches in diameter and does not seem to be on the screen but behind it. the picture is perfect and the spot not visible when the tv is on. It's only seen when the tv is off. Is this some part of the inner works that I'm seeing and is this normal or does this seem odd. I have not called for repair as the picture is fine but have never seen something like this on other sets.
    Anyone have any thoughts.

Since you have a rear projection TV there could be several problems. I believe all of them are correctable. It's possible you have a smudge on the screen, it could also be on the mirror which reflects the video onto the screen. It's also possible and more likely that you have a smudge on one of the red, blue or green projection lenses. I think the solution is a good cleaning.

Counting down the seconds before pix bursts into a rant about how that TV is obsolete, he needs to buy a new TV even if he's happy with it, cleaning the lens would be deadly, and a bunch of other unrelated nonsense about Obama, Hugo Chavez, Ayn Rand, and how this board victimizes him.

Then somebody will point out that the original post dates back to 2003!

I can't believe you call me a racist then post a picture like this and use "knuckle-dragging" in your comment. What a warped sense of reality you have. Anyone else find this offensive? Moderator?

You're the one posting on an eight year old site, troll.
Just happy to be vindicated on my statements about Toshiba,
which couldn't build a reliable clock radio.
And this board does not "victimize" me, just two know nothings,
of which you are one and talky is the other.
You think stats can replace knowledge, of which you possess
little, and your stats are usually wrong. And pro shill talky,
can't figure out if he is a jr high student pretending to be some
big shot, or some big shot with the personality of a jr high student.

Add trolling to the ever growing list of concepts that you don't understand. Have you been hanging out with SVI/Dustin_Broke? He seems just as lost as you.

Oh, and this "site" is more than 8 years old. Look at my "Join Date" indicator ... does that add up to more than 8 years? C'mon this is basic subtraction! I'm not asking you to fail again at something complicated ... y'know like multiplication!

How does a screen smudge from 2003, that doesn't even show up while a TV is on, "vindicate" any of the error-prone nonsense that you post on this board?

Oh right, so that explains all the whining and crying about how you've been treated oh-so-unfairly by the mods and how others should be banned ... all the while launching personal attacks and flamebaiting threads, and outright lying about someone calling you a racist. You've been playing the victim, too bad you're no good at that either.

No, my stats are usually right, and they support the anecdotal points that I make. It's your grasp of basic math (pixel math sez that 44.1 x 2 = 192! ) that's always been fleeting. The stats are what they, it's not my problem that you never got beyond multiplication. Pretty typical of you to attack the facts when your "knowledge" is proven wrong.

You talk an awful lot about "jr high" and GEDs. Does that reflect the limits of the educational experiences you can relate to? Or would high school or college stretch beyond what that brain of yours can absorb?

I MEANT AN eight year old post, and of course I have toi explain that to you, too dense to figure out what is a simple missstaement

How does a screen smudge from 2003, that doesn't even show up while a TV is on, "vindicate" any of the error-prone nonsense that you post on this board?

He did call me a "racist", implied that I COULDNT TELL ASIANS
APART, and some nonsense about asprin'
I am from the south, and any mention of being a racist to somebody will get you put on the floor, its really an insult.
WHAT IS puzzling is his post was completely over the top
and had nothing to do with the subject at hand.
Oh but he did not call me a "racist". SURE.
And I DID not call you a brainless KEYNESIAN socialist
looter with no understanding of economics whatsoever.
    I WOULD NEVER DO THAT.

Quote "stats" all you want, socialists always luv their "stats"
while their utopias are burning to the ground, and your "stats",
not being backed up with any real world experience,
    are usually just as useless.

You talk an awful lot about "jr high" and GEDs. Does that reflect the limits of the educational experiences you can relate to? Or would high school or college stretch beyond what that brain of yours can absorb?
More insults from one who has probably had all of the common sense brainwashed out of him by a liberal education.
WENT to the UA if you must know, took three years of electronics
in high school, which , while obsolete, is about three years more than you had, and some physical laws are never obsolete,
    although Marxism is.

Sounds like Pix has Rodney Dangerfield Syndrome.

The only remedy is self-medication and removal of the large wooden suppository.

Someday he'll learn to play well with others-----someday.

Maybe the removal of the wooden butt stick would work, because he is already self medicating.
