How is this possible? I thought that plasma was dead several years ago. Was there a revival?

Nah, no revival, they just realized that if you need a really large screen, say 52 inches or larger, Plasma's have the sweet price point and look as good if not better than LCD's of the same size. Plasma's have NEVER gone away.

Just bustn' on Pix. One of his first posts was to start a thread called, "Plasma is dead"

This is no different than the conclusions reached by many other professional reviewers, and confirmed in both viewing tests and technical measurements. Agree that CNET's credible because their reviews are thorough and transparently include all of their test results and calibration settings.

A friend of mine bought a Fujitsu 50 some inch Plasma with a secondary receiver box way back when they were first out.
He paid a little over $10k for the thing....but, it is still working perfect today and it has been moved to at least 6 different houses and re-mounted.

I'm thinking he may have gotten his money's worth out of that TV.

Glad to see the Panny plasmas get high marks. I've really been enjoying my 55ST30.

Glad to hear that Samsung has stepped up its game. After owning 4 Panny plasmas I could stand to try something new. I'll give it a few months first to see if the QC is right on the Samsung and take the leap if it is.
