    superbowl sound

enjoyed the superbowl last night. watched it on my 65" hdtv. picture was fantastic.
but what about the sound?? i recieved it in dolby digital, but it was in stereo. i would
have expected some sort of surround with crowd noise and such. what happened?
i recieved the game off air from our local cbs station. any ideas??

Swgiust; I was watching it on a 20 inch sony. This tv has two small speakers. I was just right of the so called sweet spot lounging on my couch. I didn't hear any particular sound accruments in the first half. After some channnel surfing, I found that I was surrounded by crowd sounds from the two speakers. I do not know what took place but my guess is this that the broadcast may have been in DPL-2 or 2X and perhaps that is why I heard the crowd sound in the 2nd half.
