    Quality Online Shopping?

Just wondering if anyone knows a high quality site for Home Theater Shopping. An online equivalent to your locally owned Hi-Def Store. Can BestBuy.com and CircuitCity.com be any worse?

I've purchased several things from bsless.com, and have no complaints at all. Crutchfield has always given me great service as has J&R Music World in New York City.

6ave.com is pretty good. Then you have all the factory direct dealers, such as HSU, SVS, nOrh, VMPS, Outlaw, Odyssey, ACI, Newform Research, Magnepan, Ascend Acoustics, Axiom, GR Research, Onix, Home Theater Direct, Merlin Music, Mapleshade, Shamrock Audio, Adire Audio, DIY Cable, and Bolder Cable to name a few. Are they any good? Well, my system consists of nOrh 5.1 mains (powered by nOrh Le Amps), ceramic 4.0 center and surrounds, Outlaw 1050, and SVS 20-39 (powered by a Samson S700) and I would order them all again without hesitation.

    Hey,

There are a lot of online shops for hi-fi and hi-end and you already got a good list to start.
But there is another way to shop for audio gear online - check online classified audio sites.
There are not only used gear - many brand new items are for sale there for a great price.
Most common and know resource is http://www.audiogon.com. In addition to that you can try http://www.audioweb.com or even ebay.com.
The only problem there - you need to be lucky to catch your item for a good price

But I can suggest you one interesting resource - http://www.audiowatcher.com.
Actualy it has it's own classified directory, but it's not a big one.
There is a great feature in this site - Watcher service that actualy monitor audiogon.com and other listings and let you know if there is something new you are looking for, so you will be the first one who see a new posted adv there...

The best place I've heard of is Abt (Abtelectronics.com). The store is located in a Chicago suburb (Glenview) and their showrooms and listening rooms are amazing. They have everything from appliances to speakers to plasmas to FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE- you don't see that as much anymore. They carry a lot of great brands- i.e. Speakers- M&K, Energy, Canton, Def Tech, Snell, etc.

Their online prices are usually lower than most other online prices, but the best thing is they'll still go lower. Just ask them if they can go lower. Also, they are great with matching prices (or beating them), so do your homework. If you want to actually speak with a person, call and haggle with a salesperson right over the phone. That's what I did to knock off $75 on my Def Tech sub I bought. I didn't even have to get out of my house to get my sub!!

I will not buy any electronic product anywhere else.

    Oh yeah, free shipping, too!
