Denon AVR-3803 Question

I need a little help with my new receiver. I am very pleased with the performance of my new 3803 over my old Yamaha but I have one issue. I am using Component Video Cables from my HDTV cable box to my receiver and out to my tv. The picture is great but I'm unable to view the onscreen volume and DSP setting. I can go to the menu but the picture shuts down while I work in the menu. I would like to be able to see the volume as I adjust it but don't know if this is possible. I am able to see all of the onscreen information with my S-Video upconverted DVD signal and don't know if my issue is with HDTV or component video. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the denon osd is s-video by default( factory set ), try going into setup menu and assign monitor output to component video
