    So many brands and new to me . Indeed worth to check them out. Thanks fellows for great inputs.

    However, probably most of you forget it, what about Sony SCD-XA5400ES? I heard some great stuff about it?

    I have yet to be impressed by Sony in hi fi gear.

    Actually I've heard people speak good things about the 5400ES...though I've never heard one. The 5400es seems to have a good following from those over at

    I would give most any Kenwood or,Pioneer a try. I own a Kenwood Carousel CD Changer & love it.

    Just to note that people are putting too much stock into isolated parts. There is more to a player than the DAC chip being used or the transport mechanism. These are parts of a design and it's very possible to get entirely different sounds from players using the identical transport or the identical DAC chip.
