What audio equipment do you own?
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but there's a reason I'm asking.... you now have a field in your profile where you can enter this information (called "equipment list") and never have to type it out again. Imagine being able to just point people to your profile to tell them what you own. Fill in your profile and reply to this thread so we can check it out!

Come on guys, let's see what you got!

    I don't mind being first
I have a NAD c541i CDP, a NAD C370 int.Amp, bridged to a NAD C270 Power amp, driving Wharfedale Pacific Pi 40's and a Wharfedale Power Qube sub, 12" 150 watts. Plus Kimber Interconnects.

    you think...
do you think you could lengthen the area for the equipment list in the profile? I posted my whole system up and only about half of it showed up caz its too long.

In the heart of my system lies a Krell 500i integrated amp, 250 wpc, fully balanced circuitry & class A preamp section. Connected to this is:
Krell 280cd via the balanced input
Acoustech PH-1p phono stage ( to this runs a Rega P3 turntable with their Elys cartridge. RB-300 tonearm
Primare P30 A/V preamp through the theater through input of the 500i. The Denon 1600 DVD player is connected to the P30 via digital output. Panasonic hi fi VCR. Dishnet PVR connected to P30 via digital connection. Arcam 100x3 FMJ power amp for rear/center.
Velodyne SPL-1200 powered sub. 750 watt digital amp.
Dynaudio Contour t2.5 mains. t2.1 center. Audience 52's rear
Transparent Cable - all audio and video connections
Teac cassette deck, probably over 15 years old and still rolling. Remember when they put DBX noise reduction in the decks? This one has it.
    Musical Fidelity X-Can headphone amp
    Sennheiser HD-600 headphones
Pioneer 56 rear projection, non HD, TV
Is the VPI record cleaning machine considered part of the system?

I tried to paste together two pictures the best that I could, but due to parallax distortion, they didn't exactly match.

    Left to right:

    Dynaudio Contour 3.3
    Panasonic TH-42PWD4 42" plasma display
    Dynaudio T2.1 center channel

    Taylor remote temperature sensor
    B&K AV5000 Series II 5-channel amp (125w/ch)
    Rotel RB-990BX 2-channel amp (200w/ch)

    ...proceeding to the right...
    Dynaudio Contour 3.3
    B&O Beogram 3400 turntable w/20CL cartridge
Hafler DH-110 preamp (inside cabinet, used for phono preamp)

Speaker Cables - Audioquest, Kimber & Straight Wire for mains, center & subwoofer (nice solid cables, all, but aside from making solid connections and having sufficient ability to transmit the signal with little resistance, I like many probably wasted money here, but did get them all at a decent discount...only the Kimber was new, and that was a freebie when I bought the subwoofer)

    Not shown:
Rear surrounds - one Dynaudio 3.3, one Snell K-III
Cassette deck - Nakamichi 1000ZXL w/NR-100 Dolby C unit - not hooked up
Sony DVP-S7000 (first generation DVD player, now hooked up to Yamaha YST-MS50 computer speakers in bedroom)

You know the answer already, Mike, or at least part of it. The main reasoin is that in my considered opinion different connectors will make no audible difference, or if you wish to follow strict formal logic, are unlikely to make an audible difference.

There is a second reason, too: frankly, I don't know what brand some of them are, I've had them so long.

    Dark pictures
In comparing the pictures posted so far, I find harleyx's and gonefishin's to be extremely dark and E-stat's on the dark side. My pictures probably look really washed out in comparison.

I think this probably is most likely due to how we each have our monitors set. I have the Photoshop software which I used to calibrate the settings on my home monitor, although it is not an exact science. The end result is that the colors are quite vivid. The same pictures on my monitor at work don't seem to have as much impact.

I cranked the brightness of my pictures I posted up a bit to better see the equipment, so they aren't totally "accurate", but it looks to me by the pictures others have posted that they may have the brightness cranked up too high on their monitors. Am I in the minority here?

I've brightened up one of the posted pictures so I can see the equipment better. I attached the result to this post. So my questions are...do most people think the other pictures are just fine?...are the other pictures dark just because the posters have no means to correct them?...how many other people "calibrate" their monitors.

P.S. The "adjusted" picture of Gonefishin's system I attached looks really washed out to me, but it allows me to see the equipment rather than providing an accurate color rendition of the room.

Glad to provide the laughs [least I'm good for something]. But seriously I believe it is important for everyone to disclose such data as equipment history, experience or educational background so that the readers can make a more informed opinion about they're credibility. For instance, when someone discredits a particular brand or equipment type it would be relevant to know the extent of their exposure to the equipment in question. Of course, the decision is entirely your's as to what information you choose to provide and the reader's to evaluate.

I had hard time taking my pics. My room is really dark and if I used the flash on the camera it would either wash everything out or if I got a reflection it would auto dim. If this happened it would be so dark you couldn't tell what was what. I only have a 3.0 mp camera.

I think this is a good alternative, except for the fact that the capability to edit one's post beyond a 24-hour timeframe has been turned off. Can we change that, Chris?
