Yeah, living here in the sticks, I've seen that character many times. Pitt nailed it.

    One more for my money

From the list, yeah probably Johnny Depp. Hell of an acting range. Another one from the "current crop" not on the list is Benicio Del Toro. Del Toro is another guy with amazing range, and deserves to be on the list if for no other movie role than mumbling, fidgety Fenster in The Usual Suspects. Sadly, Marlon Brando passed away last summer, 'cause he'd be an easy instant #1 on my list.
Oh, and I finally saw "The Missouri Breaks" the other night. Oddly intriguing film. Stars Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Harry Dean Stanton, Randy Quaid (yes, you read that right), and a host of others. Definitely worth checking out. Brando plays the eccentric gunfighter to the hilt.

I voted for Depp, however my personal favorite for quite a few years has been Gary Oldman. Gary Oldman has a real way of becoming the role. When any of our nominees are in a movie there is no mistaking who is playing that role. Oldman just blends in, which actually could be the greatest compliment you could pay an actor.

Oldman! Sid Vicious, bad cop in The Professional, megalomaniac with weird hairdo and voice in Fifth Element; and, from the "who-the-hell-is-that" file, the pimp in True Romance. Excellent performances.

That's what I'm talking about!!! I wouldn't have even thought that was Oldman in Dracula.

everyone's mentioned most everyone worth mentioning, so i'll toss in a few more, possibly controversial ones...

matt damon - i know a bunch of people arent big fans of his, but i think he's one of the best actors out there today. definitely chooses good roles, even when he does the "typical" movie, unlike his pal ben. just look at the action movies matt's done, the bourne movies, both, i thought were great, fun, smart action flicks.

george bush - ok, so it was just the one role in F9/11, but wow, did he pull off being a moronic robot with perfect precision. i absolutely, wholeheartedly believed his performance as a complete buffoon. brilliant.

and hello?!? worfster?? why is not your favorite actor on the list? excuse me? No Jean-claude? how could you leave him off..... the tears man... so sad...

and last but not least, Me... oh... wait you added that "working today" qualifier... crap.. ok, gimme a few months, will have a commercial coming out soon (hope, pray, knock on wood, good karma), then i can qualify! haha.

    peace

ps. voted for denzel, though very close to depp. just figured, all things being equal, i'll vote for an american citizen, and a fellow minority helping blaze the trail for me.

What about james caan? Has this guy ever been in a movie or tv show where he didnt beat the $hit out of someone? Try to think of one. Rollerball, Eraser, the Godfather, etc. i was flipping through the tv the other day, and on some primetime drama caan was on there beatin the crap out of somebody for ten seconds. Then he was gone!

As far as the poll, Johnny Depp is #1 by me. Although if Ahnold was on there, he would def be #1. Dutch: "dillon, you sonofa*****" and "So you cooked up a story and threw the six of us into a meatgrinder" Classic lines from Predator.

I dunno. I'll cast my vote for the millions of Americans who will readily believe in the documented misleadings of a fat slovenly "moviemaker" who has a long history of distorting the facts and capitalizing on the stupidity of left-leaning morons. I mean, with all the evidence against Mooron at your fingertips you can't possibly believe that he's portraying an accurate picture, can you? So it must be a real good act you're putting on, worthy of an Oscar, eh?

George Bush a moronic robot, huh? Well, if that's the case we need lots more "moronic robots" like him in office, willing to cast aside political correctness and popularity just to do the right thing. How many Presidents can be credited with the liberation of millions of people who used to live under tyranny? How many accomplished this task within one term in office? Good grief, the world's a much better place and getting better because of the resolute determination of this one man, yet you choose to digest the hateful characterization presented by a man with absolutely no moral character and a well-documented record of fabrication? Your hatred must be just as great, for surely you would not want yourself to be treated according to that same standard!

It doesn't really matter what the left-wingers say anymore. Most of the world now recognize Mooron, Dan Rather, Ward Churchill and all the rest of the vocal left-leaning haters as worthless idiots, eager to dish out their propaganda like spaghetti thrown against the wall. It really doesn't matter that a lot won't stick...at least some of it will, and that's all that matters to them. Despite the unprecedented efforts to get a traitor, liar and fraud elected to replace the "moronic robot", all Soros' money, Rather's lies, Mooron's F9/11, Moveon.org's Hitler ads, Springsteen's listen-then-vote concerts and Ronstadt's casino preaching couldn't do the trick. Most Americans discarded their diatribes as hateful ramblings of idiots and reelected their President. The world was spared from the wishy-washy leadership of a two-faced lying Kerry and his disgustingly mouthy brainless hag of a wife. It wasn't too difficult to determine who was lying and who was telling the truth, so to ignore all the evidence and support Kerry means you're either a total idiot or a good actor who knows who's really lying but whose agenda demands that you do your best effort to invert the realities.

Sorry to get off-topic, but you really didn't think your little comment could survive without a response, did you Kam? You threw the bait out and I bit on it. Happy now?

But back on track now. Where is Keanu Reeves in the poll choices? I just saw "Johnny Mnemonic" and was captivated by his performance in it! [/sarcasm]

Egad! Why do they pay that man to act? They ought to just pay him to stay out of the films. I'll cast my vote to Denzel.
