Memorable opening scenes

These might not be among the best films, but their opening scene are among the most memorable.

Not in any particular order:

Cliffhanger (1993): The cry and scream of the girl was heartwrenching as she loses her grip on Sylvester Stallone and goes plunging down into the canyon gully.


Bad Boys (1995): The movie start with a bang with a catchy soundtrack and top notch editing as Martin Lawrence joke about Will Smith's $105,000 car with no cup holder.


Patton (1970): Even the TV show Sanford & Son took the parody of the opening scene from this film..


Scream (1996): With the shocking opening scene, director Wes Craven proved that he still got it.


For Your Eyes Only (1981): James Bond take the control of helicopter, pick up the guy in wheelchair and throw him in tall smoke chimney.


Léon: The Professional (1994): The Fatman get sweatier as Leon make his way upstairs, killing his bodyguards one by one.


Once Upon a Time in the West (1968): One of the best opening scene in a western as Harmonica kills three men sent by Frank (Henry Fonda) to kill him.


Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): Edge of your seat opener by Spielberg.


Next Friday (2000): Craig's father take Craig to stay with sex-crazed lottery winning uncle Elroy, and his cousin Day-Day.
