So Mad Men is back and I get the feeling the early episodes for this season are wandering aimlessly. I get it to a certain extent because it feels like Don is wandering aimlessly without Betts and the kids. But, at some point they're going to have to do something to pick things up. The preview for the next episode showed some tension.

My wife and I just started watching this series to find our what all the hype was about. So far we have found it boring and predictable. My sister-in-law who is a big fan was visiting and kept saying we needed to see the first couple of seasons to appreciate it. My response was that it is not that I don't get the story line which may have nuances referring to earlier seasons but that the dialogue was stilted and clearly designed to draw out scenes that lacked plot. I also suspect they are going to go down a counter culture vs business suits storyline but who knows. I think we will try and rent the first two seasons and watch a few more episodes before deciding whether we hang in there with it.
