    its OK but thats about it.

    it certainly doesnt live up to the rave review it got in stereophile years ago. i bought the pair gfp565/gfa555II. the amp is a better value by far. pair it with a good tubed preamp like an sp6 or 9 and you will have top notch sound.

    been there, done that. the adcom is flexible and it does sound good but really, the tubed arc will bring you into the high end. you will know upon first listen.

    well, oops on the model. mine is a gfp565, a later model. still, i cannot imagine the gfp555II sounding any better than the 565 and certainly not better than the arc sp3a1(C) i put in its place.
