I used to have the next one down from that one. The wife liked the "light box" that changed colors and moved with the beat.

I thhnk you had GE-1000. I was thinking of getting that one but I am like no, I will get the GE-1100. I like the blue display with the echo but to start moving I have to have the volume up a lot.

hey guys what happened to this thread? No posts for almost a year!
No more vintage love here or the thread got lost?
Time to bring it back at the top!

I posted my last acquisition in the new finds thread. http://forums.audioreview.com/showpo...&postcount=510
Since then, I've upgraded the binding posts to WBTs and replaced the stock power inlet with a Furutech gold.

In the main listening room I have a vintage Teac X1000R R2R and a Dokorder 1120, both of which I use on a regular basis. I also have a JVC KD-85 cassette deck on the bottom shelf. It spends most of its time not connected only because the Jolida doesn't have enough inputs for it.
In the bedroom I have a vintage Marantz 2240B.

You gotta love the vintage Marantz 22XX series with their cool blue lights.

in my main rig, only the speakers could qualify as vintage. i do have several vintage pieces waiting to be put into service in a secondary rig;
Yamaha CR-2020 receiver
Hafler DH-110 pre (w/Musical Concepts mod)
Yamaha C-2x pre
Yamaha M-2 amp
Yamaha B-2x amp
AR91 speakers
ADS L-710 speakers

True. The amp has an amazing bottom end.
BTW, my bad, it's the 2240B. Can't figure why I was so quick to screw myself out of those extra watts. :eek6:

Well, I quess the speakers in both my audio systems are 'vintage'. In my living room I have the Quad ESL 57' and in my studio I have the Spendor 100S's. The only reason I haven't gotten newer speakers is because they sound so good I don't feel the need for new speakers.

Thorens 126 MKIIIC
I have Thorens 126 MKIIIC in the original double box that I purchased direct from ELPA Marketing (the US importer of Thorens products in the 70's). I have 2 arms and all the original paperwork. Adcom crosscoil cartridge and other stuff. I was a salesman at Tech Hifi then. We didn't sell Thorens at the time but they took care of me anyway. I was wondering if anyone could give me an Idea what it would be worth today. It's been in storage for over 15 years.
