Thanks I will have to give it a listen.
As far as 5-disc players I can recommend the Sony ES series. You probably won't find them for $5 but the C77ES is a great player and you can use almost any Sony DVD remote with it if you come across one w/o the original remote.

I also use Audacity's metadata tag editor so they are fully tagged with any extra info I can add such as Record Label, players/instruments, etc. I also tag an image for the cover art which is great for Media Monkey which displays such things.
The Touch operates by plugging in a USB drive which is great for me. If I figure to be upstairs all day I can take it into my HT system and listen up there. So the vinyl comes with me but I don't have to flip an LP.
The one thing I like the most about my squeezebox is that I can just pick an artist and every song they preformed,or wrote will be played. makes for a interesting listening experience.

It also works using network based external servers. Mine is connected via Wi-Fi to the primary server. I use an aftermarket linear power supply which tames the somewhat bright top end.

So is mine Ralph. Hooking the USB drive directly turns out to be a major PITA. I bought a TOTL router to create my network. It delivers at 300mbps. I am in love with my Squeezebox, it's actually a FUN device. I am still looking through the endless internet stations. I am a podcast fan and have been taking advantage of that also.
My files have always been orgainzed, but I now relaise how important tagging and image files will be. I like for it to "look" the role also.
I want a second power supply so that I may leave one in my rig and another in my HT system. This way I can simply unplug it and move when i foresee spending the day in either space. I am outputting digitally to my dac, but in my HT I am using the SB's dac. Very detailed but way too harsh. Lucky for me that system is coloured, so it sounds great.

This little box has changed my thinking about digital playback. Seriously. The server side software allows you to easily put together a play list and control your device remotely.

Just remember the meters and RTA are merely screensavers. Since mine lives in a closet, appearance isn't as important. Which also posed a challenge for remote access. Its own remote control, consequently is useless . What is not, however, is a cool iPhone app called iPeng which allows full access. Highly recommended.

Part of the problem is the noisy switching power supply.

I rip alot of my files from vinyl. This requires tagging and inserting cover art, etc. The alternative is a bunch of "unknown"s and question marks where info and images should be. I am a bit obsessive about this part.

Well well, I ended up with the BSR Quanta turntable in very good cosmetic and working condition!

I owned a higher level BRS Quanta TT back in the late 1970s, and it was not all that. The wow and flutter for one thing was audible. Just the arm alone on that TT you acquired is going to be hard on your vinyl collection. IMHO, you could have done better with some other brand/model. Look at the fake strobe markings on the platter. If there's one thing positive, at least its in fine condition. I replaced my Quanta with a Technics SL-3200. The overall quality and performance was like night and day.

I am not planning to keep it, I just got it and decided to post some pics of it. It is on the shelf for sale.

A pair of B&O Beovox S45-2's. I didn't find them, they found me. My nephew had them down in his basement, in the original boxes for the past 10/12 years. He asked if if I wanted them, and having a speaker addiction I said "I sure would!". After getting them home I pulled off the grills. I was disappointed to see the front of the speakers were plastic. But after removing the woofer, to look inside, I found new hope. Each driver has a 2nd order crossover, and the tweeter and midrange has it's own compartment. I've listen to these speakers an hour at a time for a total of 4 hours or so. I've found they are definitely not a rock speaker, that is, they don't like to be played loud. But at lower levels, those where you can have a conversation with the person next to you and not have to strain, they perform quite well. Maybe not a great speaker, but a good one.The bass isn't the lowest, but it is there and it is well controlled tight and honest. The highs are a bit bright, you may find yourself reaching for the treble control, especially the louder you play them. I do like the mid's, especially with acoustics. These speakers do provide a lot of detail, a fun speaker to listen too, it does color things somewhat, but to me in a pleasant way. I don't think they are worth the $325 MSRP back in the early 80's but for $50 or so, I'd say it's worth it. I'm not all that familiar with B&O, always thought they were more eye candy than ear candy. But I think a lot of that is that is because the times I've audition their speakers before, they were played loudly, either by the salesman or me. They really aren't designed for loud levels. But at lower levels, they are a nice speaker. I'm enjoying these, a nice variation.:2:

Good score luvtolisten, I haven't had any experience with B&O yet but I have read only good things about this company! These are nice speakers for sure, I saw a pair of those on the local craigslist for $80 but they were gone by the time I saw them!
Enjoy them!

I also got a pair of these big Fisher monsters!

They are all right, I actually sold them too for $100. They are more for party speakers, they could handle a lot especially in the low levels.

wow, those fisher actually sold for that much? I gotta find me some of them. Ive had trouble selling Better speakers for even less than that!
-
Well I put a lot of big pictures and very good description. There are people that when they see those big white woofers and they go for them! I posted them last night and at 1pm they were gone!

Congrats Dak at freeing up some room and putting a few dollars in your pocket at the same time.

Another addition and this time very impressed. I have never heard an amp with such a good mids and highs, especially at the mids. I have never heard my speakers sound like that. I have to keep the mids and highs knobs on 9 o'clock so it sounds normal. The front door that opens and closes is a very cool thing.

I looked it up, says it was made in the 80's, but yours looks newer than that. Never had a Yamaha, but people who have owned seemed to like them. Congratulations!

I really liked those back in the day. As I remember they imaged very well. During that time in my life they were too expensive and there were many quality speakers available for $200 a pair. I was still enjoying my Smaller Advents.

Glad you are enjoying it, Put instead of swapping it out between systems, why not do some online searching for another one, sure you can find an use one for about $100 to half off. I have 3 SB3, one in each of the rooms that I use, never paid full price.

Yes they do image well, I'm still enjoying them, I have to say I'm impressed with the amount of detail they provide. .I couldn't afford them back then (early 80's) either. Besides you're right there were a lot of speakers around that $200 mark, that were very good.
I had a chance to buy a pair of Advents with the fried egg tweeter this summer for $30 at a Salvation Army store, but I passed at the time because there was a long check out line and I was in kind of a hurry. I kick myself now.

I think someone owes some royalties to Mr. Kloss as those look very much like original Large Advents. If they sound similar even better.
