    the minvee is 1000rms and the spl 1200 is a series one, so its 750 rms. how big is of a difference is that in the real world. i'm looking for a a sub that can hit the very low notes.

    A sub woofer needs to move air. With all things considered a bigger cone with greater excursion can move more air. I would go with the SPL-1200. The smaller sub may go just as deep. The extra wattage helps there. It won't play as loud as a larger cone.
