For those who like to see a bit different technology

Well i think that this might be interesting. There are box speakers, planar speakers, electrostatics etc....

These are my Scintilla's and you can see how they are build and it might be interesting to some.

Thsese were made in 82 and have been completely rebuild.

Well Apogee unfortunatly had to close in the mid 90's. All Apogee speakers were build like this (in general) and used the same ribbons. The old ribbons had a fault tollerance of 3% which was quite high (ribbons were handcut), the new Ribbons you see there have a fault tollerance of 0.3% which makes for impecable channel matching.

I am glad to hear that they go down to 22htz. Must sound great. But I meant to say, how do they mechanicly create the base? How are they moving the air?

1A.The ribbons are made out of Aluminum and Kapton. 1/3 the thickness of your hair and only helo at the top and bottom. The swing free in the magnetic field.

2A. That is my actuall Apogee at my friends house during the rebuild.
