    Doubt they even exist.

No feedback and photos from here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...787613812&rd=1 This auction looks way too similar and doesn't seem kosher either (supposedly a different user on the other side of the country).

Barely any description at all about such a complex speaker system. With such a reasonable starting bid, you'd think they might list a few features and specs, maybe list exactly what's included to try and bring the price up. At least they're willing to ship them worldwide. That shouldn't be any hassle!!!

Wouldn't pay anything without seeing the speakers first... Or go to pay and pick them up in a dark alley...lol

I've already alerted Ebay to a possible scam. Phishing like this is wire fraud; a federal felony.

So did you mean unreal as in too low or too high? Ive never heard those speakers before, they look odd, but for the price of a car you should probably expect some unique styling.

I think its totally overprized. Noone knows that speaker and where are all the materials? I mean on a Apogee, Genesis etc.. there is tons of wood, electronics hard as hell to build drivers, magnets etc... but that box looks like nothing..

Hey we got a scammer!

Worf I've just been hanging with the vintage guys at ak. It makes sense, the only modern equipment I'm running is my cd/dvd player!

    Oh and my tv.

I submit we all need a pair of these:

NBS is for real and quite good they are supposed to be as well. They should be for the money. The company made their name as a cable company apparetnly http://www.nbscables.com/products/speakers.html The Thor and SIren go for $100,000.00US and weigh 1,000lbs 15hz-22khz and a whopping ridiculous 115db sensitivity. Strangely they recommend 100-1000 watts. But if those numbers are correct and the you push a 1000 watt amp into them they could concievably play loud enough to kill you.

You can hear these speakers along with other well regarded and classic loudspeakers at http://www.dejavuaudio.com/speakers2004.html I will be looking into them at the CES in January. Very funky design concept.

I remember the like of these when they were current production in the early '70s. Those were the late heydays of JBL, Altec-Lansing, Bozak. AR was ascendant the time.

I remember comparing a similar JBL configuration with AR3a's. In physical appearance, of course, the JBL's were by far the more impressive. With regard to sound it was a different matter the AR3a's more detailed, very much smoother and far better balanced across the spectrum. On the other hand the JBL's could really rock even with modest power.

I agree. Speakers like the big Altec's and JBL's were fantasy speakers when I was growing up. The Advent (pun) of the acoustic suspension speaker, and the "New England" renaissance in speaker design, changed the whole "Hi-Fi" scene for a lot of us. To wit; I Still have a vintage pair of mid 70's KLH Model 6 doing daily duty in a tertiary system!

And now there's a guy on Ebay parting it out. He want's WAY too much for most of what he's listing though.
