Speakers for Denon 3805

Hey, I recently bought a Denon 3805 and was looking to buy some speakers to go along with it. I am willing to pay up to 3000 dollars for the speakers. Thanks a lot.

Well, I'm assuming you want an HT setup since the 3805 is a 7.1 amp...
Personally, and it may be a little biased, but I think if you look into brands like B&W, Paradigm, or even Dynaudio, you will be pleased with what they have to offer. A couple of setups I had in mind:

Dynaudio Audience 72 towers - $1600
Dynaudio Audience 42 C center - $400
Dynaudio Audience 42 rears - $700

The 72's have a separate bass woofer, and I have not personally heard them, but you may or may not need a sub. Entirely up to you. That totals $2700. If you want a sub, you will be looking to pay around $400-500, for a nice somewhat basic one, like by velodyne or HSU. Then there's:

B&W DM603s3 - ~$1000
B&W LCR600s3 - ~$400
B&W DM601s3 - ~$350

You could always move up to the CM model line and get a nice subwoofer from velodyne or B&W with either. Good luck.

Thanks. Two more questions. Do some speakers work better with some receivers or can you get them all to sound good with tweaking.

Dynaudio is not a good match with mass market receivers. Stick with speakers that have a nominal impedance of at least 6 ohms, and preferrably do not dip below 5 ohms. More sensitive speakers will help alleviate amplifier strain as well.

Yes, NickWH is right, but B&W is a good brand to consider in an HT setup. Look into B&W, Paradigm, NHT, Boston Acoustics, Monitor Audio, are some examples. I forgot, Dynaudios are known for their neutrality and are better used in high quality wattage stereo setups and such.

And yes, cables do make a difference, but don't go spending massive amounts of money on cables. Its usually more pertinent to be running nicer wiring when using a purist stereo system and such, whereas with HT, you just want good clean sound all through the frequency range, not looking for good transparancy or soundstaging, hehe.

If you are looking to use the system almost completely for HT, then look at what Definitive Technology has to offer in your price range. Definitely worth a listen.

If buying online is more your thing, then check out the Rocket brand at av123.com... Also should fit the bill.

I'm getting a 2805 and already have the 603's with the 601's and a CC6 for center with a Klipsch KSW 300. They have been great working off my Denon 3200.Do you think i can get the 2805 bass mangement setup so when i play DVD-A and SACD i wont explode by center and rears?

i have a denon 1803 and i have klipshc speakers all around. i thnk klipsch for denon is a little on the bright side. try to find a neutral sounding speaker
