    Radiient Speakers

Anybody know anything about Radiient? Their Europa speakers are pleasing to the eye
(obviously doesn't mean they are good).

More like the insignias are rebadged europas.

I've heard the insignias. People claim they look nice... I think they look like what they are. A cheap speaker attempting a not-so-cheap-speaker design. They sound ok, for the $40-50 the Insignias used to sell for they were a steal but at $80 for the Insignias I wouldn't bother. I don't know what the Europas go for but I gather it's more than the Insignias. I think you can do better.

Actually, they really closed the gap -- the Europas only sell for US$100 or so. So yeah, for the additional $20, definitely go for the Europas.

yeah, but consider that the insignia's USED TO SELL FOR $40-$50... so best buy just decided that they could make $40 more profit, cause some suckers (re: bose buyers) think that more expensive is better quality and sound.

Well, just for starters, the tweeter is up on top on the Radiients.

The Europas' do have the coax driver but they added a super tweeter on top.

Europas are not Insignias. Go to their web site and read up on them. They are designed and made in the US. I have them and they sound GREAT! Mid-low bass co-axial with a silkdome tweeter on top. Can be bi-wired. Come with brass spikes, as well. Very pleased with them.

I also purchased a pair of Europa's a couple of months ago. I am still breaking them in on my second system. I am not truly impressed as of yet with them. They still need more hours to break in ..(I have about 10 hrs on them) . My old Acoustic Research M1 bookshelves are still in my main system and I cannot find a pair of speakers for rears in my budget that come close to sounding as good as the M1's. I purcheased them in 1992. I did some research on the M1's and that Mark Levinson dude says they are some of the best he has heard. I paid $250 brand new for them. If a guy can get a pair of them they are really a diamond in the rough. Awesome full range sound to approx 50hz. I can say the Europa's are a very heavy, eyepleasing product and I am sure mine will sound good after break in. I am damn sure they will not come close to my AR's which I rolled the dice to hope for.
In total pursuit of the velvet lining.
