Old college speakers not too bad...

    ok,
so I have been messing around with my old speakers which are/will be used with my computer audio system...
    well...
I decided to see what they would sound like on my B&K / Anthem 2ch system..

I was greatly supprised how nice they sounded compared to how they sounded back in the college days with my old pioneer prologic receiver...

the two sets I tried were a Technics SB-LX90 (15" 3-way ~ $200 for the pair back in the mid 1990's), and Optimus XTS-10 (2 cube swivel bose look-a-like ~ $30 for the pair back in the mid 1990's again)

both sets were very detailed and dynamic and looking at the price difference between either of these and my VR1's, I can't beleive I bought the VR-1s for my room

ofcourse the VR-1's do sound a bit better, but for the price... I definately should have just used a pair I already had... probably the opimus due to size...

this post was just an fyi what I discovered tonight...
do any of you have a similar experience?

I used to have a gigantic pair of Technics speakers. A 10" woofer, 4" midrange and 1.5" tweeter I believe. They were surprisingly good given their over-all cheapness but not that good and too big for my bedroom.
