thats a good point, I've actually seen the clips just fall off the wires too (well not "seen" since its inside) but pull out the woofer and the clip is there but the wire isnt crimped wrong at the factory and eventually just shake loose.
...and if the wire is attached, get yourself a cheepo continuity tester and test the voice coil.
