The Ultimate Apogee with Adventure Pt.1

We set out for Italy on September 3rd with a 3.5Ton Truck. We drove first through Austria, then Switzerland and finally Italy. Upon our arival we where greeted by 2 friendly men and drove to their storage fascility. The packagin is insane, it is HUGE and very well packed. Here is a picture of the Grands in the truck.

I will write more later with lots of info. BUT let me say, that this is VERY different from all other Apogees. All ribbons are different, the construction is made from pured steel in ALL sections. It is VERY different and there is now way to do a FR/DIVA and subwoofer....;-)

We could not get the subwoofers upstairs with 4 men, it was impossible. I had to hire a moving company to get the subwoofers upstairs and this was incredibly difficult.

This is how the subwoofers look in the room.

Here is a picture of the assembled Grand.

Wow, Flo. I mean, Wow. Very, very cool.

As a city dweller much of my life there is one thing I am qualified on which to give advice--get to know your nieghbors very quickly and be extremely kind to them...

    Cheers all around
So, I broke into the palace

She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

Dang Flo! Are they big enough? They are so huge that you look 5 foot something instead of 6' 4".

Congrats. I know how much you wanted these. Dreams do come true. Enjoy them for many years.

    Oh, and nice appartment too.

I am so green with envy.

congrats flo, no really, you must be the luckiest man on the whole earth!!!
these things are huge, and they actually look good, which is weird to me, cuz normally i more like 'boxed' * speakers. Really, happy playing music, let your neighbours (and the rest of the town) know you have your speakers.

btw, your signature (on the forum) is completely right.
do you do demos for them??

(*what they call boxed these days)

    Pretty cool, Flo!

Get something on those walls, quickly! You need something to tame the reflections.

Gads! that looks spectacular. No doubt they's sound that way too.

Do the ribbons have to stand on the subwoofers? Seems to me they come pretty close to the ceiling, so even given they're line source, I wonder if ceiling treatments will be necessary?

Congratulations Flo. Now sit down and relax and enjoy the sweet music. All the dealing and transporting the speakers must have been a little stressful.

Bigger still exists. How about a nine foot tall full range 'stat? Richard Schram of Parasound is a six footer, too.

Those Sound Labs probably sound fantastic. Compared to those Grand's they look positively boring.
