Well everyone, I have settled on a new pair of speakers. New to me anyhow. This Thursday I will be picking up a super minty pair of Mission 707 w/ original stands for a cool $100.

I had been hawking Klipsch really closely, especially after Mr. Peabody's success. The KG3 and KG4 were within my reach, I was seriously considering the KG3.

I also had a line on some tasty B&W DM 22's for a great price.

I have never owned any Mission speakers. I know critically they get a bad rap for having crumby mid range. I plan on hooking these into my main rig. They actually mimic the specs of my existing pair, except my current pair are rear ported. I expect that the Mission will deliver a bit better all around.

Any thoughts would be great, no matter how opposed. I also hope to speak to any owner's of Mission or the 707.

Keep in mind this model sold a ton for Mission, so in spite of critics, the consumer side of things was up 'n up. I am looking for an efficient 2 way, 8 or 10" woofer, that has a lively sound.

Here's a pic from the local ad of the exact pair I will be buying.
