I really wish there was a way to prove that I' am not a troll but I don't think there is a way to since you guys don't know me in person. I tried my best to explain the disabilites I have and also told you guys what kind of guy I' am but I wonder if the rest of my life eveyone will always think I' am a troll no matter what forums I goto.

Dallas as far as I am concerned I would not ban you. The one time I considered it was when you misunderstood a poster's question and gave details about something of a sexual nature. I messaged you and when you explained there was a misunderstanding the matter was dropped. To your credit it has never happened again. That was the only time you were at risk from me.

I do not think you are a troll. I have stated this several times in the past and again today. I do think you like attention but we all do. I like the attention I receive if someone enjoys my sense of humor. We all have the need to be acknowledged.

We all annoy someone and part of what I wanted to say is if someone annoys you it is best to avoid that person. Why enter in a situation where a source of annoyance is present. I am saying if you do not like me then do us both a favor and do notbread what I write. Dallas if someone becomes annoyed by you then they should not read your posts. Live and let live.

I answered this in the thread since you reposted your message to me. I did receive your private messages.

    Here is how:

    Post a topic 1 time

    Read the answers you get

Do not repost the same question multiple time, rather just reread the answers already given

Don't keep going to another site and then come back here asking the same question because a guy on the other site said something.

When you are offered help, accept it or decline it, but don't ignore it.

Participate in threads as an adult, OCD or not, you are 26 years old.

And once again, when you ask a question and and it is answered, take the advice, don't go totally the opposite of what is suggested and then come back asking about it again.

If you don't quite understand, reread it until you do. If you want to participate, then do so but stop crying when we get annoyed because you never seem to learn anything when people are taking a lot of time to educate you.

Six years of us trying to educate you and it appears you have not learned but 1 thing. New with warranty is better than Used with a gift Certificate.

OK, Dustin you're probably not a troll. What you are is a person who is extremely aggravating. You start a thread asking for advice and IGNORE every single word of advice. You then proceed to ask the same question over and over. The posters that reply to your post's get frustrated when they give the same advice multiple times.

If you aren't going to accept advice why do you ask for it?

    As far as speakers go:
Ever since you started posting here and elsewhere asking for advice about speakers you have ignored every single word of advice. You continue to buy crappy sounding computer speakers. You seem to exchange them every three months for another pair of crappy computer speakers. Time and time again one person or another has suggested saving your money and buying some real speakers.

You live in Omaha which is a fair sized city and I'm certain has a Craig's List. Any number of fairly decent speakers are available on your local Craig's List. If you really wanted something decent you would check your local CL and ask the posters here about what's available. By accepting and following some of the advice you would get you would have a "decent" pair of speakers. You could then think about other upgrades.

Also, you would stop asking us about another pair of CRAPPY computer speakers you'll keep for three months before making another lateral move to something equally crappy.

I have one question for the other posters.

Let me do my best to explain what I think is happening.

Spanky asks a question. Maybe it's something like, "Do you like speaker A or speaker B better?" Plus a whole lot of rambling about specs, sizes and materials etc.

Then most people say something like, "Both of those speakers are crap. Don't buy either. Save your money and buy real speakers."

While this is very good advise, it's not an answer to his specific question of which speaker, A or B is better, so he ignores it.

I don't know how long it will take for him to understand that we are trying to help, and feel offended that he's blowing off our good advice. Sure, it would be polite for him to make some sort of, "thanks but no thanks" comment, but he doesn't seem to get that yet. Maybe after this thread he will.

Yep, I believe that to be the case as well...

However, I don't believe Spanky is capable of understanding that...

So IMO, the only real question is whether it is OK to ban someone who is mentally disabled from posting...

While I respect JM's position about not being voted off the island, we need to consider both sides:

    1) Regular members know who Spanky is (even when he changes username) and could just choose to ignore him, however, newer members will likely be drawn into his posts and become frustrated.

    2) Are we actually helping Spanky by allowing him to keep posting here? Since we all know that he is going to be made fun of regularly and will continue to get his feelings hurt...

I'd been on the fence for years. But, when he claimed a couple of weeks ago not to know what a troll was, that pretty much decided things for me. I usually don't post on SVI's threads to begin with, so it doesn't change things to me at least.

He a troll. Suddenly he is articulate enough to engender compassion? He didn't know what a troll was, but then suggests tha he is called a troll in every forum he joins. Troll.

And, FWIW trolling will probably be included in the next DSM because of cases were very rich and extensive alter egos are created.

The problem with checking that door four times it that one time - just one time - that it wasn't locked with haunt you forever. At least that is how it was with me. Once I bought a house I was okay though. I think it was related to living in dorms and apartments in such close quarters.

There is Control 1 Plus, Control 1 Pro, Control 1, Control ONE, Control 1X, Control 1Xtreme, etc and each Control 1 series are different speakers. Btw don't get confused with Control 1 and Control ONE since both are different one is 4 ohms and one is 8 ohms. The Control 1 is 4 ohms and the Control ONE is 8 ohms.

    Just letting you guys know.
So here is the break from character, Slumpbuster. All of a sudden a totally coherent post with accurate info and very few spelling and grammar mistakes. Seems that if pushed hard enough, the real non-troll version springs to life to defend itself. Oh yeah, along with the use of a smiley.

And yes, there WAS an 1X version 6 years ago. I looked at the current lineup thinking he was buying NEW speakers, not used 6 year old ones but I shoulda known better.

It looks like he copy and pasted that explanation. That would explain why it makes sense.

That's quite possible... some of his more coherent posts really could just be a case of copy and paste...

No I didn't copy and pasted when I explanined about the two speakers. I only copy and past if I want to say the same thing on this forums on a different forums. If I did copy what I said from someone else I usualy put " " before and after them.

Dallas it is up to Hyfi as the original poster as to rather the thread is closed or deleted. I would only close a thread if it became abusive. As I have suggested to others that become frustrated with your posts just ignore them. If you do not like what is posted in this thread then just ignore it. I try to keep things fair but I cannot protect you over others rights to share opinions and advice. Now if either side gets hateful I will act.
